What “~9 bar at the puck” means: Pressure that matters for espresso is measured at the coffee bed (the puck), not as a peak number somewhere in the pump. Neo Pro is specified for stable ~9 bar at the puck. Marketing peak bars are a different claim — we put both kinds of numbers in the table so you can see the difference.

Why light roast is the real test
Why light roast breaks portables
Light single-origin beans are denser and less forgiving. Channeling shows up as sharp acid and thin body. A label that says “6–9 bar somewhere” or a peak bar on the pump is not the same as ~9 bar held at the puck through the shot.

Method (for cupping desk / YouTuber): Same lot → same dose band → Picopresso / OutIn Nano / Neo Pro on the same morning → cup blind for sweetness, acidity shape, clarity of fruit, body. Publish notes; add TDS only if you actually measure.
What changes in the cup
On Neo Pro with a dialed Brew Card, expect: clearer fruit, sweeter mid-palate, less “blade” acid, oilier crema presence when the puck holds. On peak-framed or manual-unstable setups, expect more variance shot-to-shot — sour/thin when it channels.

How many cups per charge?

What grind for light-roast espresso on Neo Pro?
Start from the Brew Card grind band for that lot (typical espresso-fine, 14–16 g class). Too slow / choking → coarser one step. Sour / fast → finer or check channeling / tamp.
How hard to clean after oily crema shots?
After each shot: dump puck, rinse basket, one water-only flush, wipe. Weekly soak of remotes in warm neutral detergent; monthly descale (vinegar 1:1 then clear flushes). Never immerse body (IPX4 splash only). Crema oil is normal — rinse beats scrubbing.
Will this replace my bar machine?
Honest: Neo Pro is travel / desk / one-lot parity, not a 3-group. If you need multi-group cafe throughput, keep the bar. If you want specialty light roast that travels and repeats, that’s the job.
