What PURA owners say

Real reviews from PURA C1 and C1 Pro owners on Amazon — lightly edited to remove model-specific details.

★★★★★

“This has become our favorite traveling companion — simple to use, makes a damn good Americano or Cappuccino, surprisingly good. We've used it dozens and dozens of times and it's held up spectacularly.”

— Tim, Amazon customer review

★★★★★

“After learning how this machine properly works, I'm prepared to eat my previous negative comments — it's deceptively simple in design, yet produces complex flavors in the crema-laden espresso. Highly recommended.”

— Frank Talby, Amazon customer review

★★★★★

“Runs on our RV inverter when we boondock — super compact, portable, and very easy to clean. As full-time RVers this was the perfect coffee upgrade!”

— Breanne Theoret, Amazon customer review

★★★★★

“Lightweight, compact, and surprisingly quiet, yet it produces a flavorful espresso with a fair layer of crema on top. The freedom to enjoy a delicious espresso almost anywhere.”

— Mr. and Mrs. Apoc, Amazon customer review

★★★★★

“I'm very happy with the machine and the espresso it makes — the small size, the quality of the espresso and crema, and of course the taste. I like that it is quiet.”

— Careful Buyer, Amazon customer review

★★★★☆

“Handy to bring camping, off the grid or remote spots with its battery option. Brews a tasty cup of espresso.”

— DG, Amazon customer review

Why PURA NEO Pro: portable espresso machine with the Brew OS app showing pressure profiling, five-stage extraction and caffeine management Why PURA NEO Pro overview: portable espresso machine with Brew OS app screens for pressure, temperature and caffeine controls

Every cup, an opera in five acts.

— the Starting Curve, performed by the machine

A complete extraction symphony in about ±33 seconds — pre-infusion to gentle release. 6–9 bar real extraction pressure is the café reference most portables miss.

Five-act extraction curve — pressure and temperature
t = 0sa complete extraction symphony in ±33 secondst ≈ 33s

Atto I — Pre-infusion

2 bar

Low pressure wets the puck like first rain on dry soil — gently waking the grounds, pushing CO₂ out before the storm.

Atto II — Bloom

hold · ramp

A held breath. The bed swells, aromas open, the puck compacts evenly — the foundation every great extraction stands on.

Atto III — Estrazione

9 bar

Real 6–9 bar at the puck. Steady pressure pulls sweetness, body and crema — the café reference most portables miss.

Atto IV — Riposo

9 → 4 bar

Pressure steps down with grace. The bed settles; extraction intensity eases so bitterness never gets a visa.

Atto V — Finale

4 → 0 bar

A slow release to zero. The last drops fall sweet, the puck stays intact — clean finish, easy clean-up.

Epilog — The Encore

No screen trick — the espresso really climbs on its own. Watch it rise, then drink.

≤120W PEAK 70mL PID temperature control PUCK ~14–16g CREMA · open lid & drink 20 bar chamber rating = headroom, not extraction marketing

Gravity is free. We use it.

Every other portable machine fights physics. PURA brews upward — the moka way. Water pressure and gravity compact the puck together; crema, lighter than coffee, floats to the top on its own.

Gravity-assisted tamping

Puck weight and water pressure work in the same direction — hydrostatic uniformity no hand tamper can match.

Crema that layers itself

Low-density oils rise naturally, forming a denser, longer-lasting golden crema layer.

Open the lid and drink

The outlet faces up — no drips, no decanting, no parts scattered across your desk.

Even saturation

Water enters from below and rises through the whole bed at once — helping reduce channeling risk for fuller, more consistent crema.

— our patented approach to portable extraction

A cup that thinks like a barista.

Pour in ground coffee and water. Press once. About three minutes later (design target from cold), coffee rises from the bottom of the cup — heated, pressurized and choreographed across five acts. Photo-to-curve is available today; deeper taste-learning is on the roadmap.

Official leather band colors — Terracotta, Deep Sea Blue, Mahogany, Wasteland Olive, Cowhide Brown. Swap in seconds. Silicone rings also available: Forest Mist Green, Deep Sea Blue, Milk White, Blossom Pink.

Frequently asked questions

How do I brew a cup with the NEO PRO?

Add ground coffee or a capsule using the adapter. Fill the water tank with at least 50 mL of drinking water, without exceeding the maximum 70 mL fill line. Prepare the extraction chamber, then press the button briefly once and hold it for 2 seconds to turn on the device. Once the device is on, press the button once to start Heated Brewing, which heats the water to the default temperature of 92°C / 197.6°F; or press the button twice to start Preheat-Skip Brewing, which brews directly at the original temperature of the water in the tank.

Should I use ground coffee or capsules with the NEO PRO?

Ground coffee is the preferred choice for a professional brew. The typical coffee-puck target is 14–16 g; follow the Brew Card in the app for the recommended dose, grind size and extraction curve. The optional capsule adapter is compatible with Nespresso capsules, but capsule brewing is intended as a secondary mode.

How do I clean the NEO PRO after use?

Discard the capsule or coffee grounds. Rinse all removable, washable parts with water and wipe the body dry. Wipe the extraction chamber dry or allow it to air-dry. Make sure all parts are completely dry before reassembly, and store the product in a dry, well-ventilated place. Do not immerse the body in water, place it in a dishwasher or use abrasive cleaners.

Blind-tested it against my home machine. My wife couldn't tell the difference.

I get this mostly out of curiosity. A portable espresso maker that fits in a jacket pocket? Sure, why not.

Then I pulled my first shot and had a genuine aha moment. This tasted different. Not "good for a portable" different — the coffee itself just hit different. Fuller, sweeter, more alive than what I'd been drinking every morning.

I got skeptical, so I did what any coffee nerd would do: same beans, two cups — one on the NEO Pro, one on my full-size home setup — and had my wife blind-taste them. She couldn't tell which was which. Honestly? Neither could I.

But the thing that really got me is you can actually tune the flavor. For a little battery-powered gadget to give a seasoned coffee drinker something new to play with — that's rare. I'm still dialing mine in and having a blast with it.
Seattle's a tough crowd for coffee. This one earned its spot on my counter.
